LAKEVIEW – Bingi NSW
A beautiful property in Bingi NSW originally built in the late 1880’s and lovingly restored by present owner Marijke Van Ommeron. Extensive re-stumping and plaster work repair, roofing repairs and minor floor plan alterations joining a small kitchen to an adjoining sitting room. A covered entry added to existing front door and courtyard landing an entry to internal courtyard.

Original materials were used as much as possible with many stored on the property in the large selection of farm sheds, from yesteryear. When not possible, similar materials such as recycled hardwoods, heritage windows were sourced. Doors made by local manufacturer in traditional methods
McNaughton Building uses and recommends kitchen manufacturers Southern Visual Concepts (SVC) from Dalmeny and many benchtops and timber products from Thors Hammer in Canberra.
TURLINGAH COTTAGE – NSW
An old fishing shack turned into a comfortable residence with separate entertaining areas and separate sleeping room from old shed.
Design and construct McNaughton Building
Front deck with views over Tuross Lake. Ironbark deck and window frames locally sourced and kiln dried, existing cottage front removed. Sail stretched for sun protection.
Rear entertaining area covered with local hardwood framing and a polished concrete slab.
Existing heritage cottage kept and renovated providing external, separate sleeping area, re-roofed and insulated, new timber ceiling linings and floorsanded. External hardwood weatherboards finished with Australiana Renaciance and U-little beauty stain wax from Timber Solutions, Mittagong.

Rural locations can make it hard to keep your veges for your own use with so much wildlife about. This is an example of enclosing your garden and creating a great space to relax.
Wick garden beds have a drainage layer at the bottom of the bed of 100mm gravel, filled with water. even in the hottest periods the beds draw moisture from below.
